Alice Ceresole

Alice’s background is in TV production. She has worked at The Light Surgeons as a researcher, studio manager and producer on a number of commercial and arts related projects as well as making some creative contributions as a photographer.

Christopher Thomas Allen

Christopher Thomas Allen

Chris is the founder and director of The Light Surgeons. His work crosses a diverse range of media; from graphic design, photography, film and video installations through to exhibition curation. He works on all aspects of projects as a producer, director and collaborating artist in his own right.

Annie Kwan

Born in Singapore, Annie’s background is in theater and film production. She has worked as a production manager and producer at The Light Surgeons on numerous commercial and arts related projects from 2005 until the present.

Jude Greenaway

Jude Greenaway

Born in London, Jude’s background is in fine art and animation. He has collaborated on a huge range of projects; from motion graphics, film direction, sound design and live audio live performance. He releases music as Scanone on various labels. www.myspace.com/scanone

James Price

James Price

James joined The Light Surgeons in 2000 and has contributed to a wide range of projects, editing, directing and collaborating on live AV performances. He worked for several years as a freelance documentary film maker with Lenka Clayton and is currently working on some short films for C4. He also lectures in video for Brighton University.

Tom Wall

Tom Wall

Tom has directed various CGI animations for The Light Surgeons with his partner Luis De Jorge. Together they formed BlinkinLab, a moving image design collective in 2005 after graduating from London Guildhall University’s MA in Digital Moving Image.

Tim Cowie

Tim Cowie

Luis De Jorge

Luis De Jorge

Born in London and based in Berlin, Mark is a prolific musician and composer who collaborates as an artist on live AV performances.

Malcolm Litson

Malcolm Litson

Helen Omand

Helen Omand

Helen’s background is in documentary TV production. She operates as a freelance producer and film maker and has worked on several short film and AV performance projects as a research producer.

Toby Harris

Toby Harris

Mitchy Bwoy

A prolific graphic designer who is a music and culture obsessive. He tirelessly supports and communicates the best of what he feels contemporary life has to offer. Mitchy Bwoy‘s vast portfolio of work spans music and clothing design but he continues to innovate & diversify.

Olivier Ruellet

Olivier Ruellet

Olivier is a multimedia artist and animator who has extensive knowledge of computer generated animation and programming. He has contributed to several projects at the Light Surgeons in the past few years and operates as a freelance programmer and artist as Ctrl-N, while teaching animation at the University of West London.

Andy Flywheel

Co-founder and a director at The Light Surgeons until 2001 when he left to pursue other work. Andy’s background in film was instrumental to the development of The Light Surgeons fusion of analogue visuals. He remains the grand master of the 16mm film loop.

Robert Pyecroft-Rainbow

An experienced artist who works with photographic, print and time-based processes. Themes of local-ness, community and accessibility are central to his practice and this influence has been central to many of the collaborative projects within The Light Surgeons over the past 10 years.

Born in London and based in New York City, Ben’s background is in music production. He has released several albums under the Dynamic Syncopation (DSP) name in the UK and contributed audio production work to various projects as well as collaborating on live AV performances.

Now based in Dublin, Andy works on technical production for a range of different live events. An original member of The Light Surgeons in the UK before migrating to Ireland, he is a talented artist who has worked on countless visual productions and specializes in field operations.

Becky worked as a studio manger and production co-coordinator on a range of commercial and arts related projects between 1999 and 2003. She lives in London and works as a freelance events producer.

Spencer Bewley

A highly creative artist that co-founded Lazy Eye visuals in London at around the same time The Light Surgeons began. He has brought his unique brand of visual intoxication to many audio visual productions over the years and is now based in New York City.

Nicola Godlieb

Nicola’s back ground is in fine art and she works as an illustrator and animator in London. She has contributed to several visual productions and short films at The Light Surgeons over the years and currently teaches animation at Hackney Community College.

Ben Tseng

Ben studied motion graphics at LCC before joining The Light Surgeons and working on several visual productions and film projects. He left in 2003 to study at Fabrica and now works in shanghai at an advertising agency.

Nicola’s background is in fine art and sculpture. She worked as a studio and project manager at The Light Surgeons before emigrating to Austria to work in film production. She is also fondly remembered as “The Duchess”.

Yunus joined The Light Surgeons after graduating from London College of Communication. He has worked on various projects as a designer, animator and web developer. He now runs his own creative communications agency Imperial Leisure from a space in Hoxton.

Mark Blackburn

Mark ‘Blackie’ Blackburn, the Earl of Mortlake, took a musical interlude from TLS and formed the downtempo outfit Kinobe in 1999. He now lives in Brighton, making pictures and playing records.

A visual artist with a background in production for events and Vjing, his creative input to Light Surgeons includes film making and animation. He operates as a freelance designer and has recently finished working with dance film company State of Flux.
